Breaking News! The Kiwanis Club of Kewaskum is announcing that they have moved their annual Turkey Shoot to the West Bend Barton Sportsman’s Club. The Turkey Shoot is always held the first Saturday after Labor Day, which this year falls on September 8th. This is a rain or shine event which features events for people of all ages. The event runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
This year’s events will feature all the events of the past which include food and beverages, a Chinese raffle, gun raffles, turkey raffles, rifle shoot, pistol shoot, compound bow shoot, BB gun shoot, golf shoot, and the trap shoot. Also included will be the very popular Regal Ware cookware truck.
One new event being worked on for this year is a 200 yard rifle shoot, where shooters will be able to use their own rifle. New children’s games are being planned, as is live music for the day. Local venders are planning to be on site to show off new models of boats, ATV’s and yard equipment.
All proceeds from any Kiwanis Club of Kewaskum event are given back to the children of local communities in support of their activities. Please come out to WBBSC on September 8th to support the children of our community.

Worthy of Mention:
#1: Rapid Fire Rule: All firearms shooting is to have a minimum of two (2) seconds between shots. Rapid fire is not allowed.
#2: People are shooting at orange clay birds on the Hi-Power rifle range. The birds are being placed on the ground below the target frames, or on the berms above the frames. This is in violation of paper targets only attached to target frame rule. This rule is in place to prevent bullets from leaving the WBBSC grounds. If you or a guest of yours are busted shooting clay birds or other non-paper objects not attached to the target frame your WBBSC membership will be suspended pending consideration
#3: Be mindful that if you intend to pattern your shotgun use the patterning target frame over on the trap/clays range. This frame moves from time to time, if you seek it, it can be found. Folks using the rifle range target backers to pattern are destroying same. Please do not do this. While I’m at it, please do not shoot the rifle and pistol range target backer frames. Thanks in advance.

Regarding WBBSC Membership: As of March 2012 WBBSC Will Not Be accepting New Member Applications. Our membership population has reached the point where reasonable shooter access to club facilities could be compromised if membership numbers are increased. This is a decision introduced at the March member meeting, and voted into approval by WBBSC members present at that meeting.
Heads up current WBBSC members: regarding the 2013 membership renewals that you will receive in the mail later this year. These renewals must be returned completed and paid in full prior to January 1, 2013. The consequence of not renewing will remove you from the WBBSC member roster and could make room for New Member applicants.
The WBBSC BOD is currently discussing future new member application options. Results will be communicated when available.
Considering WBBSC Membership? Two important tasks you need to do.
#1: Become acquainted with a current WBBSC member in good standing who will Sponsor you. If you know a current WBBSC member you are good to go. If not please visit the WBBSC club grounds during events that are listed on the Calendar or otherwise posted on this site and introduce yourself stating you are interested in membership. Also attend a monthly WBBSC member meeting, 3rd Monday at 7pm at the clubhouse. See the "Road Map" link above for graphic directions to the WBBSC Grounds. Come a bit early and introduce yourself. You will need your Sponsors name and signature on your WBBSC New Member Application.
Request that your sponsor introduce you to a WBBSC Board member that will perform the New Member Orientation.
#2: Orientation to the WBBSC facilities by a Board Member. This activity is where you, with your completed WBBSC New Member Application that has your sponsors name and signature completed, physically walk the WBBSC grounds with the Board member. You will be introduced to the range facilities and coached regarding the rules associated with proper use of the WBBSC facilities. The Board Member will provide his/her name and signature on your WBBSC New Member Application. Be sure that this happens.
Having completed the above your WBBSC New Member Application is complete and ready to submit for membership. New Member application form is available in WBBSC clubhouse or email WBBSC@WBBSC.com for a printer friendly electronic copy.

Pistol Range Closed?? Discussion at March membership meeting revealed concern that the bullet impact berm needs to be prepared for topsoil and grass seeding. Need some work hours in your log? VP Rick suggested you to roll/toss rocks on the berm to the bottom where they will be removed.
The pistol range will be closed at some point soon to get this work completed is the message I heard at the member meeting. Any questions or input regarding the pistol range please contact a WBBSC officer.
